Tour de Kili Light will take you through the humid rain forest and the magnificent villages of the Tanzanian Chagga region. This race is perfect for you, if you want to experience spectacular views of the Mt. Kilimanjaro in combination with a fun and active challenge.

THE STAGES OF LE TOUR DE KILI

You will be transferred to the starting point of le Tour de Kili,  SnowCap Cottages. This is also where you will meet the other participants of the tour and spend the night.

CHAGGA TRAILS

You start the adventure by heading towards the beautiful village of Marangu. Accompanied by stunning views of the Kilimanjaro, the stage will take you through the banana trees and coffee plantations of the Chagga lands.

Upon arrival at Marangu, you will relax with the other participants in the beautiful Marangu Hotel Camp, and enjoy a well-deserved night rest.

THE GREEN KIDIA

On the second day, you will head from Marangu to Moshi. During the 34km you will pass by small villages on the slopes of Kilimanjaro and ride through dense and humid forests. After your arrival, you will be rewarded by a drink in PitStop a bike-themed coffee shop in town and have time to immerse in the hustle and bustle of the Tanzanian Town.

After arrival at our camp on the coffee farm Kahawa Shambani, you will enjoy dinner and immerse in local coffee culture.

WEST KILIMANJARO part of Kili 360°

Dirt and gravel road will continue to take you through rain forests, banana and coffee plantations. Soon, you will find yourself in a windy area of Kilimanjaro with open plains, and acacia woodlands.

As you are heading west you leave the Chagga region behind and enter the land of the Maasai. You will experience the cultural differences among the tribes and pass by Ngabobo and Tinga Tinga villages.

As you are riding on the border of the Arusha National Park, different native animals may cross your paths.

You will spend the night at the Olpopongi Maasai Village.

TWIGA WILDLIFE part of Kili 360°

Today’s route will be completely off the beaten path without any tarmac. You will be cycling through Sinya and Ngasurai.

The open plains serve as a wildlife corridor for animals moving from Amboseli National Park in Kenya to the Enduimet Wildlife Management Area in Tanzania. On a clear day, you will be presented with magnificent views of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Meru, and Mt. Ol Doinyo Lengai.

The beautiful Simba Farm Campsite will be your home for the night.

SMOOTH JOINT part of Kili 360°

Close to the Kenyan boarder, the stage will take you along the north-eastern side of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

You will pass through vibrant villages, farmlands.

You finish the race in Nalemoru. The village is located on the border to the Rongai forest, a conservation area for a variety of local tree species.

For the final night, you will be welcomed again at Snow Cap Cottages.
