Terms & booking conditions

The short version: reserving is free and commits you to nothing, nothing is charged until you say yes, and you need your own travel insurance.

About this website

This site presents the Tour de Kilimanjaro, a 9-day cycling trip operated by One Bike Tanzania in Moshi, Tanzania. The trip itself is sold and run by One Bike Tanzania, and their booking conditions apply to your trip.

We keep the information here as accurate as we can. Routes, lodges and timings can change for reasons outside our control — weather, road conditions, or the safety of the group. The confirmation we send you is what governs your booking.

Reserving is free and non-binding

Submitting the reserve form is a request, not a booking. It costs nothing and does not commit you to anything. There is no online card payment on this website.

We reply within one to two days to confirm whether the departure is open and to answer your questions. Only after that, and only once you are happy, do we arrange payment.

Prices, deposits and payment

The trip is $2,999 USD per person. A single supplement of $150 applies if you would like your own room, and an e-bike is a $280 supplement for the trip. A full-suspension bike is $20 per riding day.

A deposit of $100 secures your place, and the balance is due before you travel. We will send you payment details directly once your place is confirmed — we will never ask you to enter payment details on this website.

Prices are quoted in US dollars and may change until your booking is confirmed in writing.

What is and is not included

The full list is on the home page and in the itinerary PDF. In short, your bike, helmet, guide, support vehicle, accommodation, meals as per the itinerary and route fees are included.

Flights, visas, travel insurance, tipping, personal cycling gear, laundry and drinks are not included.

Insurance is your responsibility

Travel insurance is not included and is not optional in practice. You must arrange your own cover before you travel, and you should check that it covers cycling and any activity on the itinerary.

Your passport and any visa required for Tanzania are also your responsibility. Please check the current requirements for your nationality well before you travel.

Fitness and safety

We rate this trip intermediate. Please be honest with us about your riding when you make your request so we can advise you properly.

You ride at your own risk and are expected to wear the helmet provided and follow your guide's instructions. Your guide may adjust the route or ask you to travel in the support vehicle if they judge it necessary for your safety or the group's.

Changes and cancellations

If you need to change or cancel a confirmed booking, contact us as soon as you can and we will tell you what is possible. Cancellation terms are set out in the booking confirmation One Bike Tanzania sends you.

If we have to cancel a departure — for example because too few riders join — we will tell you as early as we can and offer you an alternative date or a refund of what you have paid us.

Photography

We sometimes take photographs on our trips and use them in our marketing. If you would rather not appear, just tell your guide and we will respect that.

Governing law

These terms and any trip booked through this site are governed by the laws of Tanzania.
